Deckspert is for Everyone
Deckspert is a tool for creating simple, effective, mobile-ready training and performance support that has been designed with the non-expert in mind. Unlike full-featured authoring tools like Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline, Deckspert is intended to be used by people with no previous experience with e-learning technology or instructional design. All of the mission-critical instructional design decisions have already been built into the tool itself, so when you start creating with Deckspert, you’re hitting the ground running at full speed.
Mobile-First
Unlike most popular e-learning authoring platforms, Deckspert was born and bred for use on mobile devices. That means the kind of learning experience it is designed to create is best delivered in small chunks, for a time-challenged, short-attention-spanned, on-the-go audience. Its emphasis on very precisely and simply defined workplace procedures and processes, along with the observer validation tools it provides, makes it ideal for any desk-less workforce such as retail, food service, repair, healthcare, delivery, and so on.
The Deckspert authoring tool is also designed to work optimally on a tablet in order to facilitate on-the-spot training creation. You can take your tablet directly into the workplace (the back-of-house or the retail floor) and document the processes you want train using the tablet’s camera and voice dictation capabilities. In many cases, with Deckspert , you’ll be able to create training for a process in not much more time than it takes to complete the process itself.
Template-Driven
Deckspert streamlines the training production workflow by offering five different activity types or templates, each designed to work best for a common training situation and/or set of objectives. It reduces the time it takes to create effective training by employing a single-source authoring approach. That is, you create the content once, and Deckspert automatically deploys it to four different modes: a basic learn mode, in which the information is presented directly and simply; a practice mode, in which learners can master the content at their own pace; a challenge mode, in which learners are rigorously tested on the content; and an assessment mode, in which a supervisor or qualified peer can use Deckspert to observe the performance of the learner and constructively evaluate his/her operational grasp of the same content or skill.
Collaboration in the Cloud
Deckspert is a cloud-based tool. You access the application through your desktop or mobile browser, and all of your content is stored securely on the web. That means you never have to worry about backing-up your content, or installing or updating the app on your computer or tablet. It also means that you can easily collaborate in groups on the same content; or create and maintain your own course library that others can copy and customize.
Microlearning- and Performance Support-Oriented
Finally, Deckspert is both a micro-learning and performance support tool. As you will see in the next section, Deckspert encourages you to break down complex training tasks into their very simplest form: usually, a series of steps in a discrete process or procedure. By providing task-based interactive experiences in the challenge and practice modes, Deckspert provides effective, targeted training “bites” that can be completed in mere minutes. Deckspert can also publish the very same content to your own protected website, so that all employees can have access to a standard library of procedures and best practices, whenever and wherever they need it.
